If you like excitement and adrenaline, then this is the one for you! This 15-mile (25km) kayak tour to the Na Pali Coast is typically carried out on heavy Hawaiian waters. It is one adventure that will definitely push you to the limit! Paddle past the famed Na Pali sea caves, Kauai's lush valleys and beaches cradled in the jungle. If you're up for a rewarding challenge, book now!

This tour takes place on one of the most beautiful and remote shorelines in the world. The tour begins in Poipu, where you ride together in a 15 passenger van to the launch site in Haena. After paddling for about an hour, you'll come upon the famed sea caves of Na Pali, entering if sea conditions permit. You'll raft up your kayaks for a mid-morning juice and snacks break!
You'll paddle a total of 11 miles (17km) in the morning, reaching Milolii, your first landing. Here, you'll enjoy lunch and explore the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing community. Typically, you'll arrive at Milolii between 1 and 2 pm, so the morning is long! After lunch, you have a 4 mile (6.5km) paddle in usually calm waters to Polihale, where the van will be waiting for you. When you return to the Poipu store, you'll have circumnavigated the entire island!
A Friendly Reality Check: this is a very long, somewhat strenuous paddle in typically heavy seas. Don't sign up unless you are up for a good workout and maybe a challenge. While this tour is best enjoyed by people who are physically fit and have some basic paddling experience, you may join us as a first time kayaker if you consider yourself to be athletically inclined and quick to learn new sports. Of course, this trip is not for non-swimmers.
Warning: If you are prone to severe seasickness this trip is not for you.
This tour is seasonal and operates only from May through to September

A one-day guided sea kayak adventure along Kauai’s Na Pali Coast — the “Mount Everest” of sea kayaking!

This will be a long, impressive day of warm coastal paddling and caving along the monumental Na Pali Coast with your island guide(s).

Marvel at sea caves. plunging waterfalls, hanging valleys and secluded beaches.

Paddle beyond the verdant valley of Kalalau, past the arches of Honopu, and into the azure waters of a volcanic sea cave. Encounter Dolphins, Tropic Birds and upon occasion, the elusive Monk Seal.

Later, pulling ashore, we’ll spend a few hours stopping to rest and have lunch on the quiet beach of Milolii. At Milolii we can swim, beach comb, and visit an old Hawaiian fishing heiau (fishing shrine).

Polihale State Park, where the cliffs meet the sand dunes, is our final destination. After a refreshing shower, a van awaits, ready to whisk you back to our Wailua River Marina around 7:30 p.m., with memories to cherish.

Before you sign up, please be aware…

This is the roughest and longest sea kayak trip offered on the planet. Remember not only is it a 17 mile paddle, but surf launching and landings are often the norm. We usually have surf to negotiate at our take out at Polihale. The wind is a double-edged sword. When the winds don’t cooperate it is a long… long… and for some, a very strenuous day. When the winds are up you will “sail,” down the Coast for a price. These same wind that help, can also agitate the ocean and when accompanied by a ground swell, can make your kayak harder to manage with consequent “flip overs” the norm. If you flip over, will you “flip-out?”

This is not a “beginners” sea kayak tour. If you are having trouble handling your kayak you may be asked to exit 30 to 45 minutes at the Ke’e exit point.

Another companion of rough seas is sea sickness. Sea sickness is our #1 malady and is a real concern. There is no refund if we pull you out for “blowing chunks.” A seasick person does not paddle very well and can hamper an expedition.

For many experienced sea kayakers, they find the water off the Na Pali Coast to be generally some of the biggest waters that they have paddled. We have had many paddlers bail out because the seas were intimidating; over their heads; so to speak.

As with sea sickness… there is no refund for the above mentioned scenarios.
