Get ready for a truly authentic food experience of a lifetime.  I'm Lanai Tabura, born and raised in Hawaii and currently the host of Cooking Hawaiian Style which airs in 250 cites in the US & 5 other countries. I'm going to take you to all my local favorite hole in walls and establishments that you'll never find unless you were born and raised here in the islands. Some of these place I've been to since I was a child.  I just recently won a Emmy award 2018 for the history of a Ramen Documentary. I am also part of the Food Network team Aloha Plate that won season 4 Of "The Great Food Truck Race" I've appeared with Anthony Bourdaim, Man vs. Food & Diners Drive-ins a Dives. I host a series that just begun airing in Hawaii and Hawaiian Airlines called "We Go Eeat" that features the foods from Hawaii.

This private & personal tour ( no more than 4 people) will begin at a local grocery store to sample some of the best poke and spam Musubi in the world. Starting at a the local grocery stores I can explain where our foods come from and  that's where you will find the best foods. Then head to Kalihi for a Manapua tasting and taro factory. We then sit for a authentic Hawaiian food lunch and learn the history and how it's made. For the finale we head to an old school bakery or shave Ice store.

Lanai is a one-of-a-kind guy and loves showing visitors a good time on Oahu in a local style way. Explore the history and culture of the islands at Hawaii Plantation Village and learn why this state is considered the melting pot of the Pacific. You’ll also stop at a local poke shop and sample a variety of fresh Hawaiian seafood plus some of Lanai’s favorites. Keep an open mind and let your taste buds do the talking! Just outside the Town of Paia you will find Paia Bay. Home of the Paia Youth center and a famous body boarding spot known for its large and regular shore break. You can often watch the Keiki bodyboarding and surf up this spot. This is a great beach to hang out or sunbathe and this Beach is equipped with restrooms, and showers. If you walk down the beach you will pass a nice wooded area and Paia’s clothing optional beach before arrive Baldwin Beach.

Sunday Morning Surf Town Loop Stop: The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is a non profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history and heritage of the sugar industry and the multi-ethnic plantation life it engendered. The museum contains artifacts, photos, audio/video displays, plus outdoor exhibits of sugar harvesting machinery. Our Plantation Store contains sweet treats, books and other items related to sugar history, all airport ready and most fit into your carry-on luggage!

Great 500m boardwalk with lots of interesting information board to read along the way. Easy walk on well built walkway. Also provides beach access where several tide pools can be found in the rocks and the kids enjoyed looking for sea creatures.
