This whale watch departs from two different locations within the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Waters so you won’t have to travel far to see the majestic Humpback Whales. Tours include expert interpretation from on board marine naturalists, great photo ops, and an underwater hydrophone to hear the whales as they sing. This trip includes crunchy snacks, tropical juices and soft drinks. The morning light makes for great photos! Guaranteed – see a Humpback or ride again for free!

Check in at the Whale Center in Kawaihae and board our shuttle bus for the short (approx. 5 minute) ride to the catamaran at the secured harbor at Kawaihae (adults -- please be sure to bring a government issued ID). Once there, you'll walk down a short dock and board the catamaran. The crew will help you aboard, and help you find comfortable seating inside the cabin or on the spacious decks. Help yourself to a refreshing cup of tropical juice or let us bring you soft drinks. Crunchy snacks are available too (and these complimentary beverages and snacks will be available throughout the cruise). Two marine heads are available for use inside the cabin.

As you get underway, our USCG certified captain will introduce the boat and the crew, and provide a short safety orientation.
Upon leaving the harbor, our on-board naturalist will provide interpretation of the humpbacks' behaviors, and answer all your humpback questions. Our captain will maneuver the boat to provide you with the best views of the whales (and give you the best photo ops)! This local operator is proud to follow the federal guidelines protecting the whales -- you will never approach a humpback closer than 100 yards or maneuver the vessel in ways that may alter the behaviors of the whales. If the weather permits during the cruise, they'll stop the boat and deploy our underwater hydrophone so you can hear the songs of the Humpbacks as they sing them!

Two hours after departure, you'll return to the harbor and secure the vessel at the dock, allowing you to deboard and walk up the short dock sidewalk back to our shuttle bus.
