Anything goes on this exclusive Aloha Plate Food Tour- from opihi to poke to spam musubi, you’re guaranteed to sample some of Hawaii’s best and most authentic foods. Lanai Tabura, winner of Food Network’s ‘The Great Food Truck Race’ will be your guide and is as local as it gets. Born and raised on the pineapple island of Lanai, this entertainer is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Hawaii’s culture, people and food.

Lanai is a one-of-a-kind guy and loves showing visitors a good time on Oahu in a local style way. Explore the history and culture of the islands at Hawaii Plantation Village and learn why this state is considered the melting pot of the Pacific. You’ll also stop at a local poke shop and sample a variety of fresh Hawaiian seafood plus some of Lanai’s favorites. Keep an open mind and let your taste buds do the talking! This is your chance to try new things and keep a fresh outlook on life. You’ll never know unless you try!

Because this tour varies based on the group and Lanai’s ideas for the day, no two tours are alike. We can however guarantee good, local, real food and flavors of Hawaii! None of that sugary, sweet comfort food that the other tour companies call ‘real’- this is an authentic experience introducing guests to the local style of ‘grinding’ (Hawaiian pidgin word for eating). Your mantra for this tour will quickly become, “Ho Lanai, I like grind!”

Lanai usually has a surprise up his sleeve for every tour, so get ready for a spontaneous, fun and exciting adventure with one of Hawaii’s most loved local boys. Foodies and nonfoodies alike, we are sure you (and your taste buds) will love this tour!

For more than 100 years, sugar cane and pineapple have been produced on Maui. These industries started in the early 1800s. Since then, labor and shipping cost have made it difficult to compete in the open market. With the popularity of crafted alcoholic beverages made from pineapples and sugar cane on the rise, three businesses that offer unique Maui made crafted alcoholic beverages are becoming well known among visitors.

On this tour, you will visit Hali'imaile Distillery, Ocean Vodka and Maui Wine, which produce handcrafted, locally made, authentic Hawaiian brand wine and spirits. They are located in the heart of Maui’s pineapple region, Upcountry, Maui. Tastings of products are available to guests 21 and over. Pineapple fields have been harvested for over a century. With access to the best pineapple in the world, with extra sweet Maui pineapple gives us a great start for fermentation due to its high sugar content which naturally in turn produces the best vodka and rum. At the end of the tour you and your companion(s) will be treated to a Sunset Gourmet Dinner at the Kula Lodge.
