Most people picture beautiful waterfalls and an active volcano when they think about the island of Hawaii. This small-group guided tour combines both of these highlights into one fun filled day. Travel by van during your 12-hour tour and visit an alluring waterfall located in Hilo, which if you are lucky enough, you will see a rainbow form from the spray of the water. Head downtown for a stop at a black sand beach and then enjoy lunch before visiting Big Island Candies. Afterwards, head over to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for dinner and a walk into a lava tube.

Your tour begins with pickup in Waikoloa and Kona via a 15 passenger van with a maximum group size of 10 people. Begin the day by driving over saddle road to the Hilo side of the island. You'll reach a height of 6800' in elevation as the tour guide explains the different climate zones. When descending from the volcanoes into Hilo you will see the beautiful Rainbow falls. Sometimes you may see a rainbow in the spray of the water. The group will continue into downtown Hilo and visit a black sand beach. Enjoy lunch at a local diner before  stopping at Big Island candies for samples of Kona coffee, shortbread cookies, and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. The group will then continue to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which includes highlights such as steam vents, chain of craters road, and Thurston lava tube (optional). Dinner will take place inside Hawaii Volcanoes National park and if the Volcano goddess permits you will see the glowing red of her home in the evening. Sit back and relax as your guide returns you back to your hotel in Waikoloa or Kona. This tour is perfect for guests that would like to see many different places on the island without long strenuous hikes. Please note: the longest walk is an optional .3 mile walk on a paved path into a lava tube.

Just a 45-minute flight from Oahu you will find yourself on Hawaii’s Big Island. Your arrival, into the middle of a lava field, might almost seem like a moon landing. Lava, now solidified, created the wave-like, rippled fields that spread out almost as far as the eye can see. Along the western coast of the island, the landscape changes dramatically. There will be a stop at Royal Kona Coffee in the midst of the coffee-growing region. It’s a remarkable place of organic beauty. The lush coffee bean trees seem to spring up among the other island foliage. The area also overlooks Kealakekua Bay, offering spectacular views of its pristine water.
